Emotive Resonance

November 25, 2023 @ 11:00 am - December 10, 2023 @ 6:30 pm

“I paint not the things I see but the feelings they arouse in me” – Franz Kline

R. B. Murari has the ability to engage the viewer with a certain kinetic energy, to facilitate interpretation and to ‘see with the mind’. To explore and to engage the viewer, to subtly hint at the myriad emotions that shape the human mind and experience.

His preference for Acrylic medium with gestural lines, facilitates his spontaneity of emotions, that of joy, despair, passion, and tranquillity of the mind. His works are considered non-objective in definition, creating an impact in the genre of Abstraction. Murari’s strength lies is the symbiosis of cool and warm colours, with many layers to create a depth of feelings.

What appears to be a frenzy of lines eventually pulsate with uninhibited emotions, expressed in Murari’s compositions. His free and spontaneous compositions are compelling, as one goes through the dark and light totality of visual artistry. There are at times, organic elements in the mastery of his craft, in his odyssey to create an understanding of the genre of Abstract Expressionism.

His inspiration stems from meeting legendary artists and trying to understand their psyche. While creating his own metaphors to express his emotions and to connect with the viewer, Murari has created a body of works that is open to interpretation.

Eminent artist of India (late) Yusuf Arakkal had once said that Abstract Art is not just a “throw of colours” to create a painting! The artist has to have strength in drawing and will deem to have the capability to compose.

Murari’s strength lies in his deployment of colours in meaningful compositions.
