Ethos of a Rural Life
April 19 @ 11:00 am - April 30 @ 6:30 pm

Satish Multhalli’s life embraced in a rural scenario, explores
impressions that are vignettes of his village life, in a mosaic of
“emotions, attitudes, motivation and compassion”, based on real-life
situations.
Daily life being an integral part of his compositions, motivates him to
create an ethos in the current series towards his artistic endeavour.
He creates a symbiosis of reality and his fantasy in a dream-like genre
of Surrealism, rendered in his mature handling of each composition.
The body of works, depict the artist’s penchant for his land. The
people within, that leads to a representation of their lifestyle, to
include impressions of idealized objects in the village, that in turn
symbolize his thought process. His mind works on the depiction of
the role of agriculturists, the use of their tools as Multhalli’s
compositions create a rhapsody in a fantastical world ensconced in a
rural life. The artist’s inspiration emerges from a scenario where life
and death of animals play an important role for sustenance and is the
natural ‘way of life’.
The engaging black and white drawings depict the simple life of a
villager, and perceives to evoke interest amongst urban viewers. Each
work of art in his words, “encapsulates the hard work and the
dedication of villagers”.
The rural ethos is reflected in Multhalli’s creations while his
sentiments reflect his love and life in a village, a land of his ancestors.
